How we work
The industry pages follow one method, so a recommendation can always be traced back to the equipment, the zone and the catalogue page behind it.
Every recommendation is tied to a named piece of equipment and a named operating zone, so the material is chosen for the position it actually lines.
Industry pages link to the canonical product page instead of repeating its data, so grades and specification tables live in one place.
Where a refractory type has no catalogue page yet, it is listed under its own name and quoted on request — never forced onto a near-match.
Industry pages narrow the material class. The grade is confirmed against your temperature, atmosphere, slag chemistry and dimensions.
Lining systems
A lining system often combines working, backup and insulating layers, each serving a different function. The material in each layer changes with the equipment and the operating zone.
The layer in contact with the process, assigned by zone rather than by vessel: a slag line, a hearth and a melting tank each take a different material.
The layer behind the working face — also called the permanent lining or safety layer — specified together with it.
The layer that controls heat loss and protects the shell, supplied as insulating brick, lightweight castable or ceramic fiber depending on position.
Illustrative concept only. The order of layers is the conventional arrangement; thickness, temperature and the material in each layer depend on the equipment and the operating zone, and are confirmed when an enquiry is reviewed.
Technical Consultation
Tell us your equipment, the lining zone, the operating temperature and the service conditions — and the dimensions or specifications where relevant. Our team can help direct you to the relevant industry page and suitable refractory families.
