Graphite Electrode Nipple
RISING graphite electrode nipples connect graphite electrodes of 200 to 800 mm nominal diameter, in 4 TPI (T4) and 3 TPI (T3) thread types, to the nipple and socket dimensions and reference torque given below.

Product overview
Graphite electrode nipples are the double-ended conical threaded connectors that join graphite electrodes end to end. They are supplied in the IEC 4 TPI (T4) and 3 TPI (T3) series for electrode nominal diameters from 200 mm to 800 mm; the N and L codes denote the two nipple lengths for a given diameter. The tables give the nipple diameter D, length L and end diameter d2, the matching socket diameter d1 and depth H with their tolerances, the thread pitch, and the reference tightening torque by electrode diameter. The nipple material is specified alongside the electrode body in the RP, HP and UHP property tables on the Graphite Electrode page.

- ℓ and thread pitch are stated once in the specification for the whole 4 TPI group and are repeated per row. The thread detail drawing gives the 4 TPI pitch as 6.350 mm.

- Source oddities reproduced as printed: the code 298T3N appears for both 500 mm and 550 mm; 273T3N has L 355.00 while 273T3L has L 355.60; the 400 mm / 215T3L row repeats the 350 mm / 215T3N dimensions.
